Celebrating the Healthy Neighbourhoods Challenge Fund and Follow-on Fund Awardees

The Haringey Community Collaborative brought together stakeholders from across Haringey’s health, social care, and voluntary sector to celebrate seven Voluntary and Community Sector partners who delivered Healthy Neighbourhoods Challenge Fund projects.

The groups showed camaraderie and collaboration, openly sharing their successes and challenges over the past six months, and their next steps and future ambitions. We felt moved by their stories and testimonials, with a combination of hope, compassion and laughter. Most importantly, we were reminded that for many people taking steps toward leading healthier lives starts with the trusted relationships our VCS partnership have established within their communities.

Each project tackled the lived realities of health inequalities in different ways. Projects covered community cohesion, healing together, mental and sexual health support, digital access, accessible exercise, reducing isolation, stronger neighbourhoods and much more.

The cohort consisted of the following organisations:
  • Raza Sana – Open Doors Wellbeing
  • Arif Generation – Building Community Cohesion Through Inclusive Sexual and Mental Health Support
  • Real Impact Social Empowerment Projects (RISE Projects) – Stronger Men, Healthier Neighbourhoods
  • Ariam Shed – Ariam Shed and Clements House
  • Roj Women’s Association – Power of Healing Together
  • Dalmar Heritage and Family Development – Healthy Minds, Active Neighbours
  • Tech Together – Healthy Connections: Digital Access and Neighbourhoods Support

The follow-on fund was received by Tech Together and Raza Sana and their projects will continue over the next 6-9 months – congratulations once again!

After the presentations, everyone enjoyed a delicious lunch provided by Turkish Cypriot Community Association (TCCA).

Thank you to all the presenters, stakeholders, NHS and Council colleagues and to all community members – including Cllr Hannah Ward, Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care (Role-Share) – who came along to listen, ask questions and connect, and to The Trampery for hosting us.

We’re proud of the groups and what these projects have achieved for local people, and we look forward to seeing where they go next.

We wrote a detailed piece about their achievements, you can read the full feature newsletter here.
