What is it?

At Mind in Haringey, people with lived experience of mental health problems are at the centre of everything we do.

Mind in Haringey recognises that people’s experiences take many different forms. Therefore, as we plan, develop and implement our work, it’s important we actively develop and promote opportunities for people to use their experiences and skills to influence our work.

We do this through lots of methods, including surveys, discussion groups, working groups and more. We listen to, understand and act on the views of a wide range of people.

We’re really excited to relaunch our group (previously Service User Forum) and we’re looking for people to join us so we can truly make a difference!

(continued below)

The scope of our Lived Experience Advisory Group is to make an impact on the services that we deliver in Mind in Haringey and implement the group’s feedback for other mental health services more widely in the borough across Haringey.

What is the commitment?

The first meeting on the 15th of January 2024 is going to be a no-commitment information session, so you can make an informed decision whether you’d like to be part of the group going forward.

There will be quarterly meetings (four times a year) and your time will be remunerated as a member of the group.

Our vision is of ‘nothing about us without us’. Meaningful involvement for us means involvement that makes a difference: it should improve services and improve the mental health, wellbeing and recovery of everyone experiencing mental distress.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

The next meeting will be in April 2024 2-4pm.

Please RSVP to [email protected].
