What is it?

A service designed for organisations and employees to support anyone experiencing mental health issues in the workplace. Through its delivery of MHFA, bespoke training, direct support, and consultation services its focus is on improving Mental Health support, understanding and awareness in the workplace.

Who is it for?

Courses and workshops from Wellpeople are available to all employers and employees. Stress, anxiety and depression are the biggest causes of sickness absence in our society, and according to a new government-backed report, Thriving at Work, mental health costs employers between £32bn and £43bn a year. For every £1 spent on an employee with Wellpeople services, employers will see a £5 return on investment.

The ‘Thriving at Work’ report demonstrated that whilst 84% of managers feel that employee wellbeing is their responsibility, only 24% had received training in managing an employee with a mental health problems. But, improving the wellbeing and mental health of your team has a positive impact on the company’s performance.

How does it work?

Wellpeople delivers training to organisations, empowering them with skills to look after the mental health and wellbeing of their teams and themselves as individuals. All employers have a responsibility to look after the mental health and wellbeing of their workforce, not only to increase and maintain the productivity of their organisation, but as a platform for stimulating change by challenging stigma and discrimination. This can be achieved through increasing awareness and improving access to mental health support services for their employees.

Wellpeople consultants help organisations build a wellbeing and mental health workplace policy, offering best practice employee wellbeing strategies and HR solutions to support the mental health and wellbeing of their workforce. They provide expert speakers who are able to engage your teams in employee mental health conversations whether it’s at a National Conference or a more focused HR workshop.

Mental Health First Aid Half Day Course

This is an introductory four hour session which raises awareness of mental health.

Mental Health First Aid One Day Course

This one day course qualifies you as an MHFA Champion, giving you an understanding of common mental health issues.  

Mental Health First Aid Adult Two Day Course

This two day course qualifies you as a Mental Health First Aider, giving you an in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing.

Mental Health First Aid Higher Education One Day Course

This one day course qualifies you as an MHFA Champion, giving you an understanding of common mental health issues.  

Leaders and Line Managers Mental Health and Wellbeing Workshop

A four hour interactive workshop for groups of between 8-12 attendees, offering leaders and line managers the skills and confidence to spot and manage mental health problems within their teams. It provides an opportunity to bring live situations to a forum discussion.

Wellbeing and Mental Health 90 minute Awareness Workshop

An interactive workshop for between 10-30 attendees on how to effectively manage your stress and spot signs of early distress in your workplace and community.

Outsources Employee Counselling

We are a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy and our counsellors work from a variety of approaches and aim to help each client to reach their own understanding of their difficulties and find ways of dealing with them in a non-judgemental way and confidential setting.

UpSkill Online Training Resources

We shared our expertise with Upskill to create accessible, bite-sized online training resources that can be completed remotely.
