This course was excellent, a great approach to a difficult subject. The course was well delivered in a safe space.
We are certified trainers of Mental Health First Aid England’s Training Portfolio (MFHA England) and provide access for all frontline staff in Haringey Voluntary and Community sector organisations, residents of Haringey, and volunteers. Please note that our courses are extremely popular and often fully booked, so make sure you secure your place well in advance.
Grounded in research and rigorously tested, the Mental Health First Aid course is developed with input from clinical experts and those with lived experience of mental health issues. Research and evaluation show that MHFA England courses make a lasting difference in people’s knowledge and confidence around mental health.
Our keystone offering is the Mental Health First Aid: 2 Day Course which takes place once per month at Mind in Haringey for up to 16 people, per course. It is particularly relevant for those who work in the public sector, such as GP surgery staff and police and fire officers, but is useful to anyone who would like to qualify as a Mental Health First Aider.
The course focuses on equipping individuals with the ability to recognise the signs and symptoms of common mental health issues and ways to respond in a supportive and appropriate manner. In addition to aiding you with an in-depth understanding of mental health and wellbeing, it offers practical skills that will give you the confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress.
The monthly Mental Health First Aid: 2 Day Course is fully funded for frontline staff in Haringey Voluntary and Community sector organisations, residents of Haringey, and volunteers, made possible thanks to funding from the North Central London ICB. For anyone outside of this criteria, the course costs £250 per person. Please note there is a £100 cancellation fee for all bookings where less than 48 hours notice is given.
If you would like to make a group booking for your organisation (up to 16 participants), we can discuss this in more detail and can offer our building to deliver the training.
We have a comprehensive range of Training & Consultancy options that are suitable for organisations and individuals in the workplace. For further information please contact Deborah at deborah.king@mih.org.uk.
