Volunteering at Mind in Haringey

Volunteering is a valuable opportunity to find your way back into the work place or change your career entirely. We welcome committed and enthusiastic volunteers to help us deliver flexible, innovative and exciting projects and services. Plus it's a great opportunity to expand your skills and knowledge.

After being unemployed for over a year and having a year of total rejection, it was great to work with people who valued me and who wanted me to work for them.
My volunteering experience has been totally positive and has been so much more rewarding than just simply having something to put on my CV - Michael Sugrue, Volunteer Administrative Assistant

We apologise in advance if we are not always able to respond to applications promptly.

Trustees

Mind in Haringey is looking to recruit new trustees to join its Board of Trustees. Our charity has an ambitious agenda and supports people across the borough who experience mental health issues by providing a range of services including wellbeing activities, advocacy, counselling and suicide prevention work. We are looking to extend our activities into prevention and crisis management

The Board of Trustees sets the strategy for the organisation and oversees its implementation by our committed staff and volunteers. The Board is also responsible for ensuring that the charity fulfils its responsibilities for the governance of the organisation with regard to the Articles and Memorandum of Association of Mind in Haringey, charity law, company law and other relevant legislation. The Board is also accountable for the finances of the charity.

We welcome applications from anyone who is interested in helping people with mental health issues. There are currently seven Trustees from different age groups and professional backgrounds and we would like to increase this to ten Trustees. We are particularly looking for people with the following expertise:

  • Legal experience
  • Business development
  • Communications and marketing
  • Charity fundraising

but your energy and interest is key.

Why not come and join us in an activity which is not only worthwhile but also fun and rewarding.
